Once Saved, Always Saved?

Some pastors are giving millions of Christians a false hope. They tell them once you are baptized and you receive God’s Holy Spirit, you cannot lose your salvation. Is that what the Bible teaches?
The Holy Bible does not contradict itself, but if some preachers are informing adherents that it doesn’t matter what they do or how they live after becoming a Christian, they are the ones contradicting the Word of God with their reckless teaching.

There are millions of Christians today who sincerely believe they cannot lose their salvation. How can that be when dozens of scriptures show the opposite?
The Holy Bible, through experiences and examples, is about admonishing Christians to continue on “the straight and narrow,” or to endure to the end in order to inherit the kingdom of God. “To him that overcometh (sin) will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne,”(Rev. 3:21). Christ says the life of the Christian is not going to be easy but “if we suffer with Him we will be glorified with Him,” (Romans. 8:17). He knew we can sin and we could eventually lose our salvation.

Advocates of one saved, always saved, cannot adequately answer the following scriptures and a host of others in a meaningful, methodical, and contextual way:
Hebrews 6:4-6 “ For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.”
“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,” Hebrews 10:26
Rev. 2: 10 “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

Rev. 3:5. “The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.”
The fact that our names can be blotted out of the book of life means we can lose our place in the kingdom of God. It does not say explicitly that once your name enters the book of life it cannot be removed.

John 10:28 is one of those scriptures readily quoted as proving once saved, always saved. If you read Romans 8:39, you see similar language usage – nothing in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God. In other words, no one can nullify our salvation or no one can remove God’s grace from us. That is so different from saying we cannot lose our salvation. But, as usual, scriptures are twisted to justify an unbiblical teaching and it’s no wonder we hear people say the Bible contradict itself. Man’s reasoning or interpretation is where the contradiction comes from. “Let God be true and every man but a liar, “Romans 3:3). Once saved, always saved – false!
