The saints of God are on a watch. It’s an obligation we have as Christians. The Word of God tells us, in Luke 21:34-36
“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
We live in a fallen world, besieged by sin and evil, where the blind leads the blind; where they now “call evil good and good evil; that put darkness for light and light for darkness” Isa. 5:20. God is not in the picture. When all is going well, no one needs God – only in cases of troubles and uncertainties. The God of the Bible is the enemy and you are forbidden to use the name of Jesus Christ in some institutions in this country. You have to equate YAHWEH with all the other false gods, be they stick or stone. You cannot use the Bible in certain places. Furthermore, all leads to the same God and what authority have you to preach your God is true and all the others are false?
Nowadays, God could be anything because humanity has done a fine job of creating God in the image we want him to be. That’s why we must not compromise and have to stand to defend the name of Jesus Christ because, “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved,” Acts 4:12.
When have we come to this as a country and as a people? This has been in the making for some time, but because we have not been watching, some of us are taken by surprise when we see what is happening around us.
The happenings we see around us today are all pointing to the end of human history, as we know it. Read Matthew 24 about what these events will be like shortly before Jesus Christ returns. Surely, “37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
The Bible tells us we have a responsibility to watch and pray. Jesus Christ is coming and no one or circumstance can stop Him. It’s a must, a sure event? “Will you be hiding from the face of Him that sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb? (Rev. 6:16.)
