When He shares His broken heart with you

Is it difficult to ever imagine that the Sovereign and living Creator will ever share His broken heart with you?

But He does. On many occasions He does so and even today. Why? Because He wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him He will share His broken heart with us.  As children who have a close relationship with his/her parents do feel the pain and sorrows the parent(s) feel when experiencing any trials, persecutions, and hardships. The child also feels and experience the joys that parent experience.

There are many experiences documented throughout the Torah/Bible illustrating such intimacy He shares with us.

1. Genesis 15:12-16.  Yahweh had to put Abram to sleep to show Him some of the sorrow He felt regarding the future suffering of Abram’s descendants in Egypt.  Had Abram was awake seeing all this sorrow he would not have been able to bear it. Yet even while asleep it was horrifying enough.

2. Exodus 3:7-22. Yahweh was sharing with Moses His broken heart for the descendants of Abram who were suffering greatly.

They are not just words that He said to Moses, giving a command. They were His actual feelings He shared with Moses.  He sees the affliction.  In Exodus 3:7 “And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows’.

To know:  The Hebrew word for- know is – YADA. To know intimately everything, every feelings, to share in sorrows and joy, to have deep empathy, compassion, deep feelings for another, to feel, to know every intricate details of another person, to know what pleases or distresses another.

3. Exodus 12:40-42. Yahweh here is fulfilling His promise to Abram He gave back In (Genesis 15-12-16) to deliver the children of Israel and all those who want to be included.  “The time the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years. 41-. At the end of 430 years to the day, all the divisions of Yahweh left the land of Egypt. 42- This was a night when Yahweh kept vigil to bring them out of the land of Egypt, and this same night continues to be a night when Yahweh keeps vigil for all the people of Israel through all their generations”. 

This He wants to always keep close to our hearts of how He delivered our ancestors from cruelties. He kept vigil, making sure whoever wanted to leave no one was left behind, even the bones of Joseph and His father were taken out, including their possessions. No demonic forces could stop Him, they all had to flee to make way for His children’ escape.

4. Exodus 14. Yahweh had extreme compassion on Pharaoh in not killing him, then. He only wanted His children out of there (Egypt). While He kept vigil over His children, He also had His eyes of the rebellious ones – Egypt and Pharaoh.

It was not enough the plagues were sent as warning signs to Pharaoh to release the slaves, but now he wanted to totally annihilate them.  Now Pharaoh is forcing Yahweh to do what He never intended to do.  And there, out there in the Red Sea He brought complete judgment and punishment on Pharaoh.

5. Numbers 16 – 17. The rebellion of Korach, Dathan, and Eliab and their followers. They rebelled against Yahweh’s authority – in His presence, creating insurgence, and close to mutiny against Yahweh and those He put in authority over them.   Moses felt hurt because that was how Yahweh felt – hurt. Yahweh shared His hurt by causing Moses to be intimately aware of the deep disrespect they had exhibited against Him – the Most High who delivered them out of Egypt.

6. David and Bathsheba. 2 Samuel 11-12.  King David had acted presumptuously, took the wife of another man, killed the man and attempted to push the wife away out of sight.

2 Samuel 12, after much time had pass, David wrongly presumed that his sin was hidden but Yahweh was still feeling the pain of the great dishonor brought to Bathsheba, her husband Uriah, to Israel,  David’s own household, and to His kingdom.  2 Samuel 11:27(b) ‘But Yahweh saw what David had done was evil, and it displeased Him”.

Yahweh shared His broken heart with the prophet Nathan to relate to David His broken heart against David’s sins. Yahweh’s heart was broken, exceedingly, and He wanted David to feel it too. 2 Samuel 12:10”…because you have despised Me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife”.  

Punishment was pronounced upon David and his household and also was shown to him the after effects of his sin in how Israel as a nation will rebel against him.

To despise Him is to deliberately turn away from all His Principles to do our own thing. Because we are saying His principles do not apply to us.

When we see the consequences of sin all around us and Yada Yahweh, we feel what He feels, we share in His sorrows.

7. Yeshua on the cross.  Matthew 27. It is inconceivable for any mortal soul to quite perceive the complete depth of losing a child to such intense death. Even if we had experienced it we cannot bear the full weight of that loss all at once, neither does He allow us to or it would break and destroy us completely. Here in this chapter 27: 46 Yeshua said, “Elil, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is- My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?  Yeshua was sharing His broken heart telling us the story of His suffering that was already prophesied and fully illustrated out in Psalm 22: … vs 12-21..”

Today, we feel the pain and horror of what is happening around us, and ponder, “How does Yahweh feels about all this”. He already shared His pain with us throughout the entire Torah/Bible

In our own experiences of sorrows, pains, grief, we come to Yada our Creator on higher levels and deeper depths.  The heart that does not know the true heart of Yahweh cannot perceive this nor wants to share in such intimacy and analyses out such understanding.

Proverbs 14: 10 – The heart knows its own bitterness, and a stranger does not share its joy.  

In our times of sorrow, meditation of His principles and consequences of sin, He shares His broken heart with us. As the human heart breaks for the sins of others, and for our own sins, He is sharing His broken heart with us.

When we sin, He entreats us with His words and with the power of His presence (Holy Spirit) we feel remorse for our sins and repent – He shared His broken heart with us allowing us to understand the gravity of our sins in feeling this remorse for our sins and repent.  When we repent we are again in harmony with him – Yada – heart to heart relationship with the Creator.
