Women’s Ministry

The purpose of a Women’s Ministry is to provide a safe place where women can be nurtured, grow spiritually and emotionally, and gain confidence. It is our desire to teach women how to pray, study God’s Word, develop leadership skills and find their gifts, which will lead to their personal ministry.

Our purpose for the Women’s ministry is to develop virtuous women in Christ Jesus. We want to encourage, equip and empower women in Christ to be productive and effective in their knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We want to help women be adorned with a meek and gentle spirit.

Our activities include leadership training for women, as well as special events.

To participate in this ministry, you should desire to live up to Proverbs 31, apt to teach, discreet, chaste, good and obedient to your husband.

What does Paul mean “to keep silent in the church”? What about braided hair and jewelry? Is woman under a curse? If so, is it because of Eve? Is the husband ruling over the wife a punishment? While men and women are equal before God, there are differences. In Genesis, God established leadership in the family and the church, but not as the gentiles. It is not dominance, but leadership. Marriage happens in parallel. Both do their part.

“All students are automatically assigned to clubs upon enrolling at Ambassador College. Both the Ambassador Clubs and Women’s Clubs teach students how to express their thoughts effectively through speeches and tabletopics. While Ambassador Club is more formally structured, with business conducted through parliamentary procedures, the women have dinner meetings centered around themes such as the Proverbs 31 woman, current events, motherhood and personal appearance.”

“The goals for Women’s Club, according to the handbook, are to develop poise and a positive approach to a woman’s role in the home and Church as well as an appreciation of culture. Janet Burbeck, a senior at Ambassador College and Overall Women’s Club President, said of this year’s clubs. “The club atmosphere is conducive to an attitude of wanting to learn and develop the attributes of true womanhood.” — WWNews Oct 5, 1981

“The PASADENA Women’s Club had its second meeting Feb. 9 on the Ambassador College campus. Evangelist Dean Blackwell conducted the lecture, encouraging the women to keep priorities straight (God, mate, children, others) and to strive to develop health, mind, personality and character. In the initial meeting Dec. 6, Mr. Blackwell defined the purposes as twofold:
(I) to build better husband and wife teams, and
(2) to develop strong Christian women.
The women of the area will have the choice of attending lectures and /or speech clubs patterned after the Ambassador Women’s Clubs. The motto of the club is Proverbs 31:30, helping God’s women to recapture true womanhood“. — WWNews March 29, 1982
